Miss No Good

Miss No Good is a drama that I really like becuz it was really funny. There will always be a scene in the episode that makes you laugh but also some scenes that will make you cry. This is about a bubbly girl named Jiang Xiao Hua with zero sense of style. (As you can see in the picture above she wears bright colored clothes and decorates her motorcycle in a frilly sense of style) When her childhood friend, Jiang Si Le returns wanting to date her, she asks (blackmail) a famous, but poison-tounged stylist, Tang Men to turn her into a real lady. Back then Jiang Si Le was a fat boy so kids teased him. Jiang Xiao Hua sticks up for him instead so they became friends. ( She calls him Fat though.) He left Taiwan and later returned years later with a big party inviting her. She was surprised to see him good looking and rich so that's why she accepted dating him. Tang Men calls Jiang Xiao Hua christmas tree becuz of how she dresses and I particularly think its really funny! It might seem really long, but its worth it staying up late to finish the episode each and every time! There's only 14 episodes so its kind of short.

Oberweis

Oberweis is probably my favorite ice cream store. When I walk into the store, I could really smell the richness of the ingredients that they use. It smells delicious! They also have a lot of items on the menu. Not only do they have the classic ice cream with sugar cones, waffle cones, waffle bowls, or those kid cones, they also have an assortment of different things. For an example, they have lots of different kinds of their very own signature sundaes. They also have yummy shakes and malts; the flavors ranging from your classic vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry to your favorite ice cream flavors that they sell there. Another thing on the menus are their frostbites and floats with Coca-Cola or Root beer flavors. Other interesting items they have on the menu are their fruit smoothies and their coffees and hot chocolate. This includes espressos, lattes, and iced or frozen coffee. What I especially like about this place is that they're really kid friendly and offer kid sized everything; from the ice cream and cones, the sundaes, the frostbites, the soft-serve shakes, and even the hot chocolate! They also have this thing where you're able to get sprinkles on your ice cream for free. Besides the fresh walk in stuff they sell, they also sell hand packed ice cream in the store, chocolate cake, truffles, milk, butter, cheese, sherberts, caramel jars, hot chocolate jars, and lots of other stuff. The drinks that they sell there tastes really good too. for an example, they have their lemon ice tea, lemonade, fruit punch and all sorts of other yummy stuff. Holiday flavors are also delicious. They sell excellent eggnog in Christmas season, and blueberry pie in the summer, and other seasonal flavors too. If you haven't been to this place before, try it out! They are great for family outings, and for the summer heat, although I'm currently trying not to eat it since all of that adds a some weight on me!

Where She Went

This is a sequel to the book If I Stay, but I read this one first. This is about a girl who's been in an accident and when she got better, she left her boyfriend's life, with no reason to it. Now, three years passed and the boy is a top rock musician with his band, while the girl's a classical prodigy, performing at famous places herself. Reading on, we find that the boy's not doing so well on the inside, trying to make reasons up as to why she left him without saying anything. On that day, while he was walking around, he sees some sort of flyer that said that Mia was performing in a nearby place. He goes and watches her. She finds out that he was there and so the two went off to mend their relationship. It's told in the boy's point of view, Adam, while the first book was told in the girl's point of view, Mia. This book was just so heart breaking, it made me cry so much, but this book was amazing, well written and I just love it! I definitely have to read the first book, but I'm afraid of crying even more. I don't mean to sound so sappy, but this book's about finding what you've left behind, and SPOILER ALERT to those that are wary of the ending, it's a happy one!

Special Cupcakes

These cupcakes recipe are from Kitchen Princess! They actually work and taste delicious. Don't leave them out for too long though because they turn rubbery-ish and hard to eat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup of milk
  • 3 tbs of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup pancake mix
Directions:

  1. Add everything in a bowl except pancake mix and stir.
  2. Then mix in the pancake mix. You can also add sprinkles, chocolate chips, or even chocolate powder to make the cupcake more unique.
  3. Pour the mix in paper cups half way or else it will spill out once it rises.
  4. Put them in the micro wave for 30 sec.- 1minute. It depends on which microwave
  5. Its done when a clean toothpick comes out when you poke it in the cake. You can top it off with whip cream or something. Enjoy!

Kitchen Princess

Kitchen Princess is a shojo manga with 10 volumes by Miyuki Kobayashi. The story is nice though it's a bit of a melodrama kind of thing.A girl named Najika Kazami, who's really nice  transferred schools in order to find a flan prince of hers when she was younger. She called him Flan Prince because he rescued her from falling into a river and he also gave her flan with a spoon, that had his school sign. This leads her to the special school where she starts working at a restaurant, making new friends, while malicious people try to stop and make her unhappy. SPOILER ALERT! She does prove them wrong!

Boys Over Flowers

This drama was just...THE BEST!!!!!!!!! But I just don't know why. It has 25 episodes. This is a korean  adaptation based on the manga Hana Yori Dango. It's about a literally poor girl named Geum Jan Di who was able to attend  a luxurious high school called Shin Hwa High because she saved a student. That student was about to commit suicide and she stopped him, so to get news to quiet down as to why the boy was trying to commit suicide, they offer her a scholarship. She soon makes a friend there at the school but while they were messing around, the girl's ice cream dropped onto the Flower Boy's leader, Gu Jun Pyo (it's spelled lots of different ways). With the 3 other members in the group behind him, he demands the girl to lick the ice cream off of his expensive, made only for him Italian leather shoes. The girl was about to do it, but then Jan Di jumps in and says it's her fault and she'll do it. When she kneels down, instead of licking it, she takes the cone and smashes it into his face and tells him that her family is a good dry cleaning place. She sticks an order form to his face and leaves. Because his big ego couldn't accept the fact that she did that to him and humiliated him in front of his friends, he decides to target her next with the red card. Time out. Let me explain this card. Whenever someone displeases him or angers him, he gives this red card. If you get that card, the minute you open your locker, other kids will see that card and immediately, everyone will shun you and bully you; even if you used to be so popular. This is because F4, is pretty much the leader of the school. They are the richest, the hottest, and watch over everyone like it's their kingdom. It's technically true though since Jun Pyo's mom is one of the most powerful contributors of the school ore something. Don't worry though, they soon find out that Jan Di has lots of determination and won't get struck down even though they bully her in the meanest and cruelest way. But that was also the start of friendship, and love. I know that sounds corny but what can I say? Its true. This drama made me laugh, cry, and feel all sorts of emotions. It was just like a roller coaster ride with all of that drama going on. Trust me, you have to try this drama. You'll love it and hate it. You might not know what I mean right now, but you will after watching it!

You're Beautiful

So the first drama I've ever watched was You're Beautiful. There were 16 episodes. The drama is awesome as in the plot, romance, music, cast, everything!!!! It's basically about this girl, that's going to be a nun meets her twin brother's manager, asking her to pretend to be her brother since he's about to get a really good deal, but the brother's in America, treating his messed up eye. All she has to do is sign the contract. When she gets there, she meets the band that her brother will be with and the lead singer isn't happy that the girl (being her brother) is joining. He complains that his songs require the voices to hit his high notes. The band makes her sing, and when they heard her voice, they accepted her immediately; begrudging, but they admitted her voice was good enough. Somehow, she gets pulled into the whole thing and has to live with the band, and all these things. The drama overall is really cute! It's also funny, and dramatic. I mean, what do you expect out of a drama, right? It also forms a love tangle where all of the band members (3 guys) like her while she doesn't realize any of this. I definitely suggest this drama to anybody that hasn't watched it yet!

Maximum Ride Series

This is an amazing series that's mean for teens and older. The author James Patterson, makes the story of scientists creating stuff that might change the world. For an example, they would make kids from a test tube and it would be abnormal with wings or something. Meet the flock, led by Max, the girl. Her flock includes Fang, Izzy, Nudge, the Gasman, and Angel; 98% human and 2% bird. That 2% accounts for their wings. They've been tampered with, living like test subjects, and aren't even treated like humans. They go on this wild adventure, trying to hide away from the world, but also trying to live like normal kids. They all made up their own names and approximated their age. There is 8 total books in the series and the 8th one is coming out soon; on August 6th! Though they might fight at times, they are the closest and most loyal and tight knitted family ever. This story gets a bit complicated, so I would suggest older kids to read it, or read it slowly to digest the information that he throws at the readers. The top left picture also shows the graphic novel version of this book. It's very cute and actually does help make the story easier to understand. Currently, I believe that there are 6 volumes of the comic. The 6th one is probably going to be published soon. Since the book series is a little complicated to know what comes in order, so I can list the series for you. As for the manga, they clearly state what number volume it is so as long as you know your numbers, you'll know what book comes first.

1. Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment
2. Maximum Ride: School's Out- Forever
3. Maximum Ride: Saving The World And Other Extreme Sports
4. Maximum Ride: The Final Warning
5. Max
6. Fang
7. Angel
8. Nevermore

Rink Side

So, I went to Gurnee Mills and went into Rink Side. It is really fun- especially when you hang out with friends there! There's a mini golf course, (which I didn't go in) ice skating rink (also didn't try) arcade gaming, and laser tag. Let's see, well, I didn't try the mini golfing, but i thought it looked really colorful from the outside! Ice skating was a bit of a risk for me since I've never ice skated before, so I was afraid of breaking my neck. The laser tag game was extremely fun! It's for large groups though, because of the teams. What you do is you wear on these vests, either for team blue or red, and attached to your vest is a gun. After that, you get 10 seconds to hide somewhere before you can start shooting other people. Now, how it works is that the gun, you have to hold with both hands, and so if you hold it with one hand, your monitor would say hold the gun with 2 hands, wasting your time. Then you'd go shooting people where there's the triangle either on the front, back, or shoulders. It sounds lame, but when you play it, it's really fun! If you get shot, your vest would vibrate, and you'd be lit yellow. This means that you can't shoot people and others can't shoot you. This game just gets a bit of my adrenaline pumping! Afterwards, when the game is over, your monitor would tell you how many hits you made. There's also an arcade place where you can play games like shooting others, or air hockey or racing, etc... Those games have this thing where once you slide your card, you can play up to 2 hours so its like it doesn't cost anything. You can play those kind of games for up to a certain amount of time you paid for. Then there's the game that cost you credits. Those are the ones that give you tickets if you win. You have to buy credits and you can get more if you give them more money; any amount is fine, you can even get $1 worth of credits or you can say I want 9 credits or something. They also have games that require tokens so you can get 4 credits for 4 tokens or something like that. The other kind of games they have is the ones with the claw hands. Those just require credits. All of the games here are really addicting, and you just want to play more. With the tickets you win, you can go to the prize desk to receive a prize. There's those cheap stuff that are around 6 tickets, and small pieces of candies that are 10-40 tickets. The big bars would be around 150 tickets and other games can be up to 25,000 tickets. They also have blow up toys, lamps, and stuffed animals. Another machine they have is the cotton candy machine, where you can pay $2, pay in credits, or tokens. It tasted pretty good, but I mean, its cotton candy so...they pretty much all taste the same. Now, the machines here aren't top notch. They mess up a lot and constantly need assistance. I mean, its not super bad, but they could spend a little money to repair these or even buy another one! The pizza there tastes horrible. Its not like I can't even eat this horrible, but its just so greasy, and the bread is flat, and all these other things. It's edible, but don't expect Domino's or Pizza Hut, or Lou Malnati's Pizza. Overall, this place is really cool, but it does need some work. I think I will go there for like a party or something like that. Now that I realize it, it's sort of like Chuck E. Cheese, but it's okay if teens or adults go there. Below are some of the prizes I won from Rink Side!

Won from a claw machine!
A glittering lamp, got by giving 1,200 tickets!

Happy Cafe

Happy Cafe is just a really super cute and funny manga! Its about this girl that's a little kooky where she looks like a child but attends high school and she is very strong. She stumbles upon a cafe and then started to work there with the 2 other men. One is in his early 20s (the guy in the middle) and he's really quiet but a bit headstrong, just not in a jerk manner. The other guy is in high school. He's very mellow and falls asleep if there isn't food around. Both guys get drawn to her and she's very obtuse not realizing that both guys like her. This is a light hearted story though so it's not like they battle for her with cold wars and stuff!- which I really like since I don't like heavy dramatic stories!

Katana

This is a book by Cole Gibson, about this skater girl hanging out at the mall with her friend, and then these losers come over and take this lady's purse. She helps take it back and then these three people surround her to beat her up and do who knows what else. She then suddenly has her inner spirits awoken and helps her fight them all off. The next day, she wakes off in the hospital because she passes out and the weird doctor goes asking her questions. When he left, a strange Asian boy comes in to see her. She's never seen him before but he gives her a business card of his. Then the story goes on, and she finds out that she's part of this Senshi destiny thingy where all of their souls are connected and she has to reawaken and train herself because bad people will come to hunt her. It's basically like Wendy Wu, but this is a pretty good book. It's a bit slow though, but I still liked it! It's definitely a combination of good action, romance, and historical-ish.

Oresama Teacher

Okaay, so this is a manga about the girl (in the middle) has always been with gangs, and she is the best so her group follows her everywhere. That group turned out to be not so helpful and when the police spots her group, they all run away leaving her to be locked up. When her mom finds out, she gets so angry, the girl is sent to another high school. Coincidentally, she meets her childhood friend who is now the teacher in her school. It's a pretty cool and cute story if you know what I mean, and it's absolutely hilarious! The thing is, that childhood friend was the one who made her all fight-y and everything so in a way, she resents him a bit, but he is her friend that she liked when she was younger!

The Dictator

I just finished watching The Dictator and it was hilarious!!!! If you aren't into film critiquing and other stuff, then this movie's definitely for you. Its so funny in a racist-ishy insulting stereotype way, if you know what I mean, it's just there and I loved it. Maybe the love romance relationship thing wasn't the best, but hey, it's supposed to be a comedy. Try it out; don't listen to Rotten Tomatoes, they are just too picky! Basically, the movie is about this dysfunctional dictator that's very sad and lonely though he doesn't actually know it himself. He likes to be the best at things even though he isn't, and is someone insults him in any way, they would be executed. He lets other nations think that he has a dangerous missile so that brings him to America, where "it's the birth of AIDS" He then gets kidnapped and his beard is cut off so that no one would recognize him. They place a fake him where "he" declares that his country will be a democracy, and the real him is outraged, leading him to a bunch of situations where he's trying to regain his place. Sounds weird, yes, but it was so funny. Seriously, I think the only thing I liked about the movie was the humor, nothing else.

The Beginning Of Babbling!!!

So...this is my first post. I'll keep it simple; I'll blog about my experiences with stuff but just because I talk about one subject, doesn't mean that I'm completely in to it....enjoy!
